First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Artists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not an Artist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the LBGTQ, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not LBGTQ.

Then they came for the Muslims, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Muslim.

Then they came for the Christians, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Christian.

Then they came for the Atheists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not an Atheist.

Then they came for the African Americans, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not African American.

Then they came for the Asians, and I did not speak out – – –

Because I was not Asian.

Then they came for the Hispanics, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not Hispanic.

Then they came for the Foreigners, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Foreigner.

Then they came for the poor, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not poor.

Then they came for the middle class, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not middle class.

Then they came for the elderly, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not elderly.

Then they came for the Intellectuals, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not an intellectual.

Then they came for Women, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a woman.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
